oh shit... i totally didnt see your post about it. it took me like 15 mins to find a photo of the sandwich i specifically wanted. yeah....i heard it takes FORFUCKINGEVER to get inside. that is assuming you're lucky that they haven't ran out of food for the day. they are open for like 4-5 hrs from tuesday til friday. i would really love to buy some guanciale from this place to bring home so i can make some REAL carbonara. july is my major trip month (canada, hawaii, & los angeles/comic-con), so i'm hoping i can squeeze seattle into it.

My current favorite is brie and Black Forest ham. romaine, tomato, and spicy honey dijon on pumpernickel.

My former favorites have been:
-Granny Smith apples, brie, and fruit preserves on an Italian roll
-San Daniel proscuitto and fresh mozzarella, sun dried tomato, basil and balsamic vinaigrette on focaccia
-Roast beef & Muenster cheese, red onion, lettuce, tomato, chipotle cilantro aioli
-and of course the old standby, any combination of turkey, sharp cheddar, and green apples, grilled.

There is a place in Madison that sells a few versions, but they are not as good as I had over there, and they cost more than $1 here. The place that sells them is also 1/2 hour by car.
