i've always wanted one (not the craigslist kind)
and my shoulders and back are sore like a bitch
but 50 minutes is $120 bones
are they good?
...like, you think i would enjoy it even though i'd be bumming hard on ultramega self indulgence?

I've had two done before and I currently have a voucher for another 1.5 hour one that my wife bought for me several months ago.
A guy did the first one I had and he didn't do the greatest job. My back ended up getting really sore between my shoulder blades. This cute girl did my last one and it was a whole lot better.
I'd say get one.

my shoulders are constantly knotted up, my girlfriend can't even phase them with her puny hand strength...and you'd think she'd be a total natural because of her ethnicity
I'm sure it would require an Olga or a Gertrude or a Milag to get something going here

I go to a massage school to get my massages. It's cheaper, guaranteed not to be sketchy, and so long as you ask for a more experienced student, just as good.
you can get a massage and a handjob for 80 bucks around here
you're getting ripped off

Yes they are good, and worth it. Atmosphere is important too. If they put you in a hospital looking room with florescent lights it won't be nearly as relaxing.
Hit up the ZaSpa. It's where I go.

atmospehere is so key and if they talk to you during the massage other than to ask you to turn over then tell em to shut up.
i have a lady that comes to my house with her table and does $65 for an hour

I had a massage in Thailand. Not the special Thai massage. It was by far the most painful thing I have ever had happen to me. I did get use to the pain though and after the massage was done I felt like I got the shit kicked out me. Then about 20 minutes later I never felt so relaxed in my life.
The part that hurt the most was when the little Thai woman used her elbows to dig into mycalve muscles.

$120 for 50 minutes is more in the upper class spa. youre basically paying the extra $60 or so on atmosphere (and more likely than not a 20% gratuity will be included into your bill) but if all you want is the health benefits of a massage, you can find reasonable ones for $50-$60 easily. massage schools are also very cheap, but hit and miss with the students.

Uh, dude...did you forget who you're talking to.
edit: 8-bit artist, as i was alluding to above, i live in hiltons more than i live in my loft.
118% quality, son. Plus I can either have them come to my room, or head up a flight to the japanese-fusion spa thing they've got going on.
What's funny is that these perks are earned by spending money. Greatest scam in the world. Pay my rent: free plane ticket.
I'm riding first class this weekend solely on the textbooks i bought last semester, never used, then sold on half.com for like a $14 loss.

I'm actually going tomorrow to get one. on my honeymoon i had 3 separate hour long massages and other treatments . it was a place that focused on the spa treatments. the rooms were open air in on the side of a mountain in costa rica with nothing in front of you except trees for about 20 miles and the ocean.
i heard howler monkeys right outside the room and it was unsettling but awesome at the same time
