Rented it this week.. it's pretty fun, alot of guys to kill, but taking numerous foes out with your glaive is a big thumbs up.The story sucks and I can't say I really care for the characters alot, but the graphics are enough to save it.

I say give it a shot but don't spend money on purchasing it.

The reviews are mostly stupid about the game. If you played and liked Final Fantasy 7-9, you'll love Lost Odyssey. If LO had the words "final" and "fantasy" in its name, it would have scored several points higher. Its just one of those games that's completely "same old."

All that said, its exactly what I wanted and I like it a lot. I'm on the final disc but haven't pushed myself to beat it since Smash Bros came out.

my 360 is modded by way of firmware hack on the dvd drive and it's not banned. the key, i believe, was never playing any pirated games while signed into xbl. just the same i've foresworn copied games entirely so as to maintain my xbl account.

Are you modded with a chip or just flashed firmware?

As long as you're using the newest iXtreme firmware (which is currently 1.4) and stealth patched backups you should be fine. At least that's what any info you find will tell you. I choose to stay on the safe side and only use original copies when playing on live. I haven't been banned yet.

I'm at the end of Disc 3 in Lost Odyssey. I like it except for the annoying save point locations, i.e. you need to find a save point before you can save. My Xbox has some occasional disc reading issues so I like to save as much as possible. I've already had to retrace some pretty annoying steps when I've gotten the dreaded "Disc is unreadable" error. But yeah the game is good - your basic final fantasy type RPG just like Warning said. If you like the FF series, you'll enjoy this.

Despite what the internet might tell you (including some “official” sources), the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare variety map pack has NOT been delayed until the 10th. As of right now we’re pushing certification for an on-time release for April 3rd or 4th, however it may slip into next week (as they don’t release anything on weekends). As of right now though, I’m being told that it’s a good chance it will be released worldwide (except for Japan) tomorrow night (Thursday) or Friday morning. If I get a more exact confirmation or hear if it will slip into Monday I will let you know immediately when I find out.

With that said, we also have a new video up on Gametrailers that show off the new maps in action, so check it out above.

At the time Microsoft just announced the extension of the warranty to 3 years, and I had heard that most of the problems had been sorted out by the time the elites had hit the shelves that I thought I was safe, guess not. I'm more than likely just going to buy a new one, with best buy warranty again, and ebay the one they send back to me.

Rockstar confirms edit in line with recent events down under.

Now that the Byron Report's findings have come and gone, the United Kingdom seems to be rather sated on the whole "video game censorship" issue. As a matter of fact, just this week the Queen's officers lazily waved Grand Theft Auto IV through the review process with nary a second glance.

Not so in the land down under, where the Queen's men remain apparently lean and hungry. Word comes to us today from Australian magazine The Age that unlike the U.K., the Aussie retail version of Grand Theft Auto IV will ship in a stripped-down and slightly emasculated state to accommodate the country's "15+" ratings ceiling.

Rockstar also later confirmed that the Australian GTA would be released as a "special version" with content toned down from the presumed sex and violence available in the international SKU, though unfortunately the company chose not to reveal details of what exactly might have been stripped out to satisfy the censors. As has been mentioned before there is no analogue to the "18+" ratings category in Australia, which frequently results in developers having to make substantial modifications to avoid outright bans.

Recent controversies in the Australian games media have included bans for both Dark Sector and Soldier of Fortune: Payback -- both of whom chose to re-edit their games rather than face censure. All this plus frequent debate in the mainstream Australian press over the appropriateness of selling 'questionable' content on local shelves disregards the fact that Australia, much like the rest of the world, sports a median gamer age located squarely in the mid-to-late twenties.

Now I'm having a hard time finding a console that I can mod - I bought one, modded it, and then found out it was a piece of shit. Freezes on me after 20-30 minutes. • He completed the game in 25 hours of playing time. It doesn't sound like he 100 percented it, so this is probably a mission-only completion.

• Rob anticipates that, playing at a normal pace, you'll get 40 hours of gaming out of the missions, plus another 25 for the side missions. Others have speculated at close to 100 hours total. Whatever, it's going to be a lot.

• He did it over the span of three days (!!!) beginning March 26, going from 9 am to 10 pm. (I usually feel ... nasty after gaming that long. You?)

• The missions get rather difficult at the end. "The final couple of missions are a rock," he says. (Not sure if anyone feels the same way, but I thought the closing missions of San Andreas were almost too easy — and I wasn't using a walkthrough. Vice City however was insanely difficult at the end. Wonder if this will be a blend.)

In all, he confirms it's going to be a powerhouse game, and will thoroughly take over your schedule after April 29. Hopefully I'm moved into a new apartment by then. And have my 360 back.

the first year and a half was a real growing pain time for the ps3. developers are starting to figure out how to really use it, sony is helping the developers out more and the install base is rising. multi-console titles aren't going to be any worse than 360 versions anymore. I'd be willing to bet that this time next year multi-console games would run slightly better if not better than their 360 counterparts.

The only place in the world that the 360 is doing well is america. Worldwide ps3 has been outselling the 360 month to month for quite some time now.

The only thing that the ps3 really needs at this point is a handful of games and to improve the PSN

Maria Santiago: When Emergence Day struck, Dom's wife Maria became a victim as surely as if she had died in that first attack. On that day, her children were killed. For Dominic, who joined the COG to protect his family, no priority is higher than to retrieve his lost love - his very personal quest to find her is a major part of the story that unfolds in Gears 2.

"We hear hints of all sorts of new multiplayer features, from dramatically expanded co-op modes to multiplayer content that takes advantage of Unreal's new ability to deliver huge numbers of the Locust horde at one time, but confirmed details will have to wait until a later date."

"Gameplay of Gears 2 will appear mostly familiar to fans, with a few small variations. The core cover/shoot mechanics remain largely intact, but the use of cover has been carefully retouched so it will be harder to get hit while protected, as the character will rest a little further back from the corners. Active reloads won't be dramatically altered, particularly with the returning weapons. However, some of the new arsenal may vary the way in whihc active reloads are used. Gears 2 will have different difficulty settings for each player in co-op. One person can play on Hardcore, one on Casual, for instance. When you are together, the game will understand what that means, and when you split up, you will have individual experiences. Details on how this works exactly are under wraps.

A fourth difficulty is being added for the most casual gamers. Harder difficulty settings will remain "truly devastating." They say Casual in the first game wasn't casual enough. This way everyone who wants to pick up the controller will be embraced.

COG Centaur tank. Takes the best parts of a monster truck and a military tank and combines them. There's a dedicated level where you'll pilot one.

However, the Kantus' true danger lies in their ability to revive their fallen bretheren from afar. Along the way, you may not have access to stable cover anymore, so you'll have to make do with the moving kind. The team at Epic is well aware that many players out there hunger for a deeper and more involved storytelling experience. Lots of emotion this time. Joshua Ortega has been brought on, he is a novelist / comic writer. Really sounds like they are working a lot on the story. Sense of depth with the characters. Forced walking scenes that masked loading time have been replaced with a dynamic conversation camera system - focused facial close ups, shifting dramatic angles, but the player is still in control. There is a "SHUT UP" button that will let you have Marcus end the conversation early and get back to the action.

the one thing i like about halo is the matchmaking system is fair. id rather play shit against other shitty players. instead im playing against people who have hit the 5-10 level of prestiege and sucking balls in the process.

like, i dunno if my classes are wonky or im just dumb. i know this is a more strategic game and i try sometimes but i find if it sit too long im flanked. these people know every secret and all the sweet spots. i dont know know fuck all.

that is why i generally don't play online fps games. You can't very easily casually play them, you have to keep on playing on a regular basis if you don't want to be dying the entire time. The only game that i've memorized any map to whatsoever in multiplayer is goldeneye.

Four More Multiplayer GTA IV Modes Revealed

The official Grand Theft Auto IV site just updated with another wealth of information including details on four new multiplayer modes.

The new modes, all described in detail on the jump, include Team Mafiaya Work, Team Car Jack City, Turf War and Race.

Newly Detailed Modes

Team Mafiaya Work: (2 to 8 teams) You're a member of a crew doing contract work for the mafiya—including such plum gigs as escorting wanted men, picking up MacGuffins and stealing cars. Work as a team to complete contracts before the time period ends and get the rewards. You'll probably want to do your best to scupper the other crew's work as well. Each contract you complete gives your team cash, and the crew with the most cash at the end of the round wins.

Team Car Jack City: (2 - 8 teams) Cars spawn parked around the map and the teams must steal then and take them to a drop off point. Teh cash teams get for dropping of stolen vehicles depends on their condition—teams get less cash the more damaged they are. The exception to this are special bonus cars, stuffed with drugs, which five a set amount of cash on delivery no matter how damaged they are. Your crew has to get hold of whatever vehicles the boss wants. Whichever crew makes the most money wins. Simple.

Turf War: (2 teams only) A timed capture-the-base mode. There are a number of bases around the map that you have to take by stand on on them for a short period of time. The more players that are on a base, the faster it can be captures. The more bases that your team owns, the faster your team's cash score increases. If the rival gang is on or near a base, you won't be be able to take control of it—so do what you can to try and... displace them. The team with the most cash at the end of the round wins.

Race: Race to the finish through each checkpoint in order. If you take a wrong turn or mess up in some way, you can respawn your vehicle on the last checkpoint you passed. There is a large selection of races for cars, boats , and helicopters—you can choose laps and vehicle class/type. This mode has two sub-modes: Free Race and Cannonball Run.

Free race are point-to-point races. First one to reach the end point inws.

Cannonball Run are races where you have to reaverse several checkpoints any way you can.
