Normally, I wouldn't post this since there was a bit of a departure from Halo 3 to other games, but I have moderator approval and some interesting news has been released about the game. Apart from the Heroic Map Pack now being free (Standoff, Foundry and Rat's Nest), Bungie's announced the Legendary Map Pack, of which fans of the previous two Halo titles might find interesting.
In the new pack, there will be a remake of Lockout (Blackout), a loose remake of Sidewinder (Avalanche) and a brand new map (Ghost Town). You can check them out below:
Blackout:

Avalanche:

Ghost Town:

So I figured that a few of you who remember the glory days of Sidewinder's epic CTF matches would dig the new addition, Avalanche, even though its far from a strict recreation. Blackout apparently plays damn near identical to Lockout, which for the people who played loads of Halo 2 - this will be a welcome addition. Ghost Town looks shit hot as well.
The new maps are going to be released on April 15th for 800 points.
