This morning Sony released some numbers to show just how popular the demo, currently the most popular demo on the Playstation Network, has been:

ive only put about 2 hours into uncharted 2, i think im at chapter 7 or so, but I can give it a huge thumbs up. even the tutorial section was intense, and actually kind of stressful....but in an awesome way.

goz, i just 100% TMNT and i must say, its a little lame. def wouldnt have paid for this game.

i now know what they mean about the missing stuff as there is no rat king, no slash, no technodrome level (no throwing foot soldiers at the glass which is what those dudes were talking about), no super shredder, no bebop or rocksteady. meh. id rather they updated the better version of the game.

The only problems I have with the beta/demo is finding a match in a timely fashion. Sometimes it takes 5 seconds, sometimes it takes a few minutes. I've never been logged out, had alot of problems with people, or anything else. Pretty fortunate I guess.

Yeah definitely have lost excitement for this game somewhat. It is cool they got the WRC license but will they have actual point to point style WRC tracks or the same old tracks they've had with the same whacky physics they had when driving on dirt. The damage aspect is cool too, but only the 'race' cars have the parts coming off of the cars.

GT5 was the reason I got my PS3, but the series just doesn't seem to do much for me right now, and given their track record you can add another 6-8 months to that official release date. I mean come on Turn 10 has been able to turn out 3 forza's since GT4 and all PD has done is some glorified demo.

I'd gotten the idea that the gameplay mechanics I'd just been introduced to (the ground smash, which proved to have multiple uses; double team attacks; precision control of Eddie's ride, The Deuce) would only become more important as I played on. But after these early, promising steps, I was met by a series of short, hack 'n' slash missions, the point of which was to get various factions -- each with their own unique abilities -- to join my army. After that, Brütal Legend became a series of real-time strategy battles, in which those factions became units to command (most easily from high above the action), and escort missions involving The Deuce. The scenery changed, but the game simply stopped surprising me in any significant way. The plot became predictable, the dialog lost its "Schaferisms" and I failed to care about the supporting cast. It almost felt like the game had been handed off to a different developer.

The bulk of the game is played in these RTS battles, where you essentially build and execute an absolutely killer rock show. Grabbed U2 and brutal legend on my way home (pissed off the clerk because it was the last copy of U2 and he was planning on taking it, ha)... I STILL can't get into multi-player, over 7k people online and it won't find any players... anyone else having this issue? I've set my ps3s ip to dmz in my router so I shouldn't have to worry about port forwarding, I'm just hoping that their servers are slammed right now...

The multiplayer is great do not get me wrong, but two major problems I have experienced with it are the fact that it only includes seven maps which is a little low for my tastes and does not give the player any playlist options. About 3 hours into Uncharted 2 and help my fuck is it amazing. I don't think I have ever played a game with such great cinematic story telling. Graphics are jaw dropping, pacing myself with playing it because if I didn't stop myself I'd be up playing until 4am.

I'm the boards #1 uncharted fan, but I don't think I would describe the game as fair. thats one of the only things I don't like about it. It is way too easy to die in this game, I hate how you cant move from cover to cover without going into the run animation, there just seemed to be too many times I was doing great in a firefight then they threw a nade, I had to run for cover and got hung up and shot to death

yeah i've heard this same complaint in almost everything i've read and/or heard. can't you still roll from cover to cover? kind of sucks that they couldn't get that right since it really wasn't a problem in the original. i actually don't remember too many times i was forced to go cover to cover because of a grenade so that could be why. if that's the biggest complaint though, i'm fine with it.

i think it's cool that you get something for completing the original but i agree with you that plat'ing it should get you something extra. it seems like developers don't really reward players for completely finishing/plat'ing games. maybe they'll start hooking the "hardcore" gamers up a little more one of these days. that's something i've always been upset about even in the nes days.

crushing is not that hard. only really hard part was the blue room. if you use cover where your back isnt against the wall, you can basically shoot through the wall and kill the guys.

the museum stealth part was simple. i didn't get caught once. maybe i got lucky going the way i did but no problems getting out either. pulling people over the railing while you hang there is so awesome.

i just played for 5 hours straight and had to force myself to stop playing. the entire train/helicopter sequence is possibly the best thing ive seen in a video game.

did you get all those stats before or after the trophy patch? The trophies aren't retroactive so if you did all that relatively soon (as in the first year or so) it will be the in game stats vs. the actual trophies. If you want the stuff that you had before the patch to be shown as trophies you have to actually do it all over again

seems like u2 has way more cutscenes than u:df. i know they're trying to build up the story (which is written and told pretty well so far) but it's a tad overkill to play for 5 minutes, watch a 3 minute cutscene, and repeat. it's a small complaint though since you could skip them if you wanted but i feel like i'm gonna get stuck watching a 90 minute movie here soon like mgs4.

on a side note - everyone knows how pretty this game is but i'm really impressed that a mandatory install wasn't necessary. nice job naughty dog.

also, the new grenade mechanics are awesome. i will be using them a lot more now and it's cool they give you the option of using the tilt method to throw if you dersire. i'm also really digging the hand to hand combat more this time, the animations are incredible and the variety of takedowns are awesome. ok, back to playing.

back when i had my n64 one of my friends brought over some third-party controller (might have been mad catz actually) and was using the turbo shit non-stop. the next day i went to play goldeneye and my 64 was fried. nintendo fixed it for free but they sent me a letter back saying not to use anything that they don't have their seal of approval on. so since then i've been first-party only for all consoles.

i've never even heard of blaze and they're making a product that you can't even use yet and i'm sure will be inferior to sony's motion controller.

I'm playing through on easy because I sucked at the first one and it definitely takes a lot longer to die when you're taking fire. There have been a few times already where I was catching bullets for what felt like forever and still made it back to cover. Ammo is much more plentiful, too.

there are parts like in the ice cave where you cant tell where to jump at times. i die much more in exploring than i do in fire fights. if you didnt beat the first on crushing, you cant call anyone else a "noob"

yeah that pool on the rooftop, the view...just everything about that nepal level was awesome. I think that was probably the best level in the game. the vehicle level (I wont be more specific for spoilers) toward the end of the game was so awesome too.

i think overall the game isn't as hard as the last one, and by that i mean it's more fair... there aren't any sections in the new one that are over the top punishing like the water dungeon part and the jet ski part in the first game

Just started Chapter 19. So far this game has been as expected, awesome. I just wish I didn't watch so many gameplay videos beforehand. some of the little easter eggs things are cool too, like the marco polo thing when you swim in the pool, patting/sniffing asses of the yaks, scaring the kids. the borneo level is by far the best looking thing i have ever seen in a game. the part where you get up high and have a huge view of the land, man i stood there looking for ages and even made my girlfriend get up out of bed to come see it haha.

also the mountain view from the village is fucking spectacular.

The only plot issue I have so far is why the fuck did the russian soldier dude you fought on the train have the dagger/key thing on him? He's obviously supposed to be one of lazarevic's main guys but it just seemed lazy for him to have it on him just so you could steal it back without confronting lazarevic.

u2 demo is gone since it was multiplayer only.

as for other ps3 fps games, if you played the usual ps3 ones, then there isnt much left (kz2, resistance 1 and 2).

there arent any 2d classic platformers besides little big planet. if you want that, go to wii. although there is a psn game coming out oct 22nd called trine thats supposed to be good.

I wouldn't say that it sucks completely, but something does feel a bit off. TheWarning and I were having a chat about this the other day, feels like the game is two years old and just sorta feels like they could have done more with it. I've had it for about a week now and kinda feel like I'm forcing myself to keep playing it. The fact that you can't jump is annoying as shit.

On the site it says "not good for preorders", but then it said "click here for eligible games" (which is pretty much everything), and Tekken 6 was on the list even though it's a pre order. They're letting me pick it up at the store anytime Tue also, so it might be possible to do this with MW2 or something also.
