I like the PS3, for sure. But there are lots of little naggy things on PS3 that can be done on 360 that I pine for. Like signing into multiple profiles (and not that jacked useless way its done in LBP). Or sorting through your music while in-game.

All that stuff has to be enabled on the development side, whereas on 360 its standard if you are using the XDK. So if development is lazy, you get nothing. And why should they bother enabling that crap if it doesn't have anything to do with their game?

I'm kind of torn. While I like the idea of the video content, its all really short. If the videos were longer, I think it'd be a no brainer.

As far as the content goes, then yes its worth it. I think so far for subscribers they've given away Calling All Cars (meh), Linger in Shadows (meh), and High velocity bowling. They always give away free "exclusive" themes or whatever, some of them have been good, some are not. And then of course the beta invites are nice as well.

Multiplayer is scaled, you play with people who are on the same rank as you. So basically if you can hold the controller and push couple of buttons, first couple of games are you slaughtering everyone.

Its good fun, I just started playing it online couple of weeks ago.

so i beat uncharted in 2 sittings on normal, but i didnt know you had to play hard to unlock crushing mode, so im doing that now. that fucking water room is such a cunt on hard. luckily there is a glitch to have the dudes spawn without having to jump down into the room.

There's like 6 levels and you respawn and shit. They remind me of like "search and destroy" or any other mission related multiplayer stuff from call of duty. I wanted to play a 2 player co op not online and then do shit online, like we did with the first resistance. This one is already a dissapointment, and will be returning. Thankfully I bought it used and have 7 days to return it for any reason.

yeah, we'll see if i play it. hard isnt hard but thats because im using the weapon select and just walking around with the wes 44 killing everyone with one shot (i realized this cheat after chapter 5. ugh).

It seems it's finally happened. Ever since the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, the internet has been awash with fans eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the blockbuster stealth series. After all the videos of hated enemies talking about 'that other thing', cryptic ads with large 5's in the sky, and even an iPhone interpretation of MGS4, an e-commerce database on Seven Eleven's Japanese web site seemingly confirms the development of a new game in the franchise.

The Kanji phrase "メタルギア新作 ", when tossed through Google, roughly translates to "A Metal Gear new work."

The page is for an upcoming issue of Famitsu PS3+PSP, so it can safely be assumed that the title will, as expected, be coming to a Sony platform.

Not enough evidence? Hideo Kojima's web site has a countdown scheduled to end in just a few hours, at the end of which he will unveil the new game from Kojima Productions.

see but even then there are two separate developers churning out call of duty games in order for them to have one every year. if they didn't have two studios working on it it would take over 2 years for a new call of duty to come out.

infinity ward does all of the good call of duty games (Call of Duty 1, 2, Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2)

treyarch does the not so good call of duty games (big red one, call of duty 3, World at War)

if treyarch wasn't there Modern Warfare would have been call of Duty 3 and it would've taken like three years while infinity ward rebuilt the engine for modern warfare

It varies from studio to studio and team to team, but our typical crunch time is only about 3-4 months. And it's really only bad for about a month.

I took mine to a mates house once, and forgot the chords. Just used a 3 prong chord worked fine. One of the things i like about ps3. Usb controller, regular power thing.

same here. ever since the dreamcast i've just loved that type of controller. the ps controllers have just never really felt right in my hands.

my only complaints so far with the uncharted 2 multiplayer is that i gotta mute all those assholes every game and the games are too short. when we select deathmatch, ill see a counter for like 15 min or so, but it never lasts that long. does the match stop when a team reaches 25 kills or something?

yeah i spent ages looking for it, even with a map i still didnt find it. ive still gotta beat it on evil, so ive started that now and im crossing the shards off one by one as i collect them. it would piss me off, except im playing on hard too so i kinda needed to go find a heap of them again anyway to get my powers up

I found all the blast shards on my first play through without spending an obnoxious time searching. Thank god because I'm not sure that I wouldve wanted to go through searching all three maps for one shard, I'd probably just give up at that point.

Goz, did you find the shard in the first district that's off in the water in the northeast corner? That's the one that took me forever on that island

The first time I played through it, I played the first "section" of the game and it prompted me saying, "Judging by how you did with what was given to you, we will be switching your game difficulty to hard".

It didn't ask me or anything, it just did it. So my first play through was on hard and I got that trophy that way, and I was collecting blast shards as I came to them, but it wasn't good enough, I had 260/350.

I found this map (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/file/942025/56681) to be the most helpful. I cut the three sections apart and printed them up and divided each section into 4 quadrants, to insure the search goes as thoroughly as possible. Hopefully I'm not stuck with 1 left by the end of the day.(g)

Uncharted for sure. I bought Little Big Planet the day it came out and have played it maybe and hour or two since then. I'm currently working on my third time replaying Uncharted in preparation for Uncharted 2.

Uncharted for sure. I bought Little Big Planet the day it came out and have played it maybe and hour or two since then.

Pretty much right on. Little Big Planet is a good game to own, the playtime is virtually endless. Granted, the last time I played this game we had 4 people with 4 controllers, and we had a blast - but for just single/2 player, it's not something I could play for hours on end. Uncharted is quality, try to get a used version for 20-30.

So my copy of Uncharted is fucking up. I'm near the end of the game and it starts to freeze up. It should be noted that it didn't do this until I downloaded the update.

I'm trying to hold my excitement for 2 but it's almost impossible. That demo footage with the Helicopter was absolutely astounding.

anyway - just picked up Red Faction, and this game is fucking great. Big open world, lots of hidden places to explore, great engine, and actually challenging - i've died countless times on missions and just randomly attacking EDF outposts.
