I stream everything via tversity. My computer in the next room is hardwired to my ps3. The only time I ever have an issue at all streaming is occasionally when the framerate gets REALLY high on 1080p movies. ex: The Dark Knight when he has the sonar sight. And it also doesn't play some really old divx files (couple seasons of trailer park boys)

fighting games just arent my thing anymore. the last fighting game i played and was really good at was fucking mortal kombat 3. haha. i just lost the knack for it but i do think the learning curve for this is higher than say SF4 or something. you cant get away with button mashing in UFC. like ill get taken down and try to reverse but as im trying to reverse im getting hammer punched and when i finally get the reverse they just reverse it back. the one time i played against congo and that fucker just kept clinching me and bashing me. im not quick enough to try and counter it when the opening is there so i keep trying to hit back to get out but not before i get pummeled.

Yeah, I had some gift cards to blow and some games to trade in. Totally worth the $100 I spent on it. Plus think about what all the pspgo does in comparison with a phone. Phones are $200 for plenty of features other than just making a phone call.

i only have a psp because i received it as a gift (3000) i don't particularly care for it and i hardly ever use it. in my opinion, it's pretty much a fail. though i do appreciate it's integration with the ps3. the single analog stick is fucking stupid.

Well it seems we are in opposite boats. I have a 1st gen old DS with an acekard2 (originally m3), all the games I could ever want and I don't want to play any of them.

ds has been pretty slow recently aside from the new zelda but it's library is far superior. i have a dsi for the record.

The psclassic games such as mgs, castlevania sotn, coolboarders 2, original fft, hot shots, and plenty of other $5 and $7 games from the past that you can play on the psp and the ps3 (able to transfer save data) make it worth it to me. A friend of mine with a ps3 likes the psclassic games also so we just take turns buying games, so I'm basically getting a buy one get one every time. The browser/bluetooth/media capabilities of it are much better then relying on (and draning the battery of) my actual phone. Plus I can integrate it with display on a tv and control with a bluetooth ps3 controller at any time as well. I don't know, I REALLY wanted to buy a DSi, but just found all signs point to psp considering I have a perfectly working ds I never touch.

yeah, the ps classics are cool. i can get down with that. i also like the fact you can use a ps3 controller with the go but that's about it, all the other capabilities are the same as a 3000. if you like it though, then more power to ya. i would have grabbed a 3000 though and then if you come across any psp games you want (non ps classics) you could potentially find a used copy and save some money. i think they fucked up really bad with the digital media.

My neighbor ended up getting a pspgo also. So with 3 of us buying games, it's cheap as shit now. The same rules apply as psn games, you can download and put these games on up to 5 psp and 5 ps3 systems. Yesterday we picked up some games and split the costs, which is definitely better (and significantly cheaper) than getting old psp systems and buying multiple copies of used games. We buy these games once and all 3 of us can play at any given time.

Hot shots Open Tee 2 is awesome of course. I was hoping for some minigolf, but to no avail (yet anyway). The wifi multiplayer is done really well, you don't have to wait on the other players, you're all playing at the same time.

Mega Man X maverick hunter is fucking sweet. It is the original Mega Man X with redone graphics, some of the power ups are in different spots, and you can play as X or Vile. I've beaten 4 levels on it - little tip; the leg dash upgrade isn't in the ice penguin level anymore it's in the flame mammoth lvl

re directors cut; haven't played it yet, but had it for the ps1, sure it's awesome

castlevania dracula x chronicles: What this is is Rondo of Blood with redone graphics. Which is sweet in itself, but once you beat the game you unlock Symphony of the Night with redone graphics.

gta vice city stories: it's gta on a handheld, boom.

Loco Roco Midnight Carnival: Great little puzzle game, can be frustrating, but it's cool you only have to use the L and the R buttons and keep the pspgo closed.

If it's done correctly you never need to click "search for media servers" it should pop up the moment you are logged in.

Anyway...download, google, and read the faqs of TVersity. Should have all the info you need.

i'm at chapter 9 on uncharted 1 and it's been a blast. everyone has been saying uncharted 2 is 2009's game of the year and it's been on my shelf for 2 months so i'm excited to get to it

i don't think playing through u1 is vital to getting the most enjoyment out of u2. there's a couple returning characters and some references to the first game but not much else.

that being said, i'd recommend playing u1 because it's a good game on it's own and you can see how much more naughty dog was able to put into u2.

well to be fair it's not intended to be an action oriented game. it's supposed to be an modern homage to the old sierra/lucasarts action adventure games but with state of the art graphics.

you didn't actually do a whole lot in those games either, but the narrative and the world it created made it what it is. the game is just trying to bring back the concept of not having to shoot everything you see in a video game

That killing 10 jugs with explosives is BULLSHIT.

my partner showed me a trick to beating it. in the back where the stairs are, itll tell you to turn back and return to the mission, but if you keep going and make a right at the top of the stairs, the message goes away. so the juggs will come up the stairs but not all the way up. so you splash damage (gotta shot at the right spot in the corner of the stairs and makes the thumper rocket explode) them with the thumper until they go down.

even using that technique, its still a bitch to beat. mostly cuz you run out of ammo. they just keep coming and you cant get to the ammo crate. when we beat it, my partner went down trying to get to the stairs with 3 juggs coming at us. i went up the stairs, killed one, threw a flash, threw another flash, revived him, then ran like fuck to the ammo crate in the beginning, then went back to our spot to take out the last 5 or 6.

If you use your flash drive to do the update, it only takes a minute instead of the 45 if you do it via the internet. I just download the update to my fd, which takes three minutes, then do the update with it. Infinitely faster.

so you load up every game you have on a weekly basis to make sure you have all the updates? I haven't played my ps3 a lot recently and I knew that fat princess had an update, so I loaded it up and updated, 27mb, not bad... Pain was down at the bottom of the list of games I haven't played in a while, loaded it up, SIX updates, each 200-300mb each... this is taking forever.

Mine's hardwired too, but like most my ps3 doesn't see much action, maybe a couple times a month. I really don't understand how Sony shipped a PS3 with only a 20 gig harddrive, after game installs and demos you have room for only a few games at a time. I've also upgraded my 40 gig to a 320 and now have more room than I know what to do with. Does the slim model still allow harddrive upgrading?

Really easy lots of guides online, just make sure you have a small enough screwdriver. I bought a new screwdriver for it, and still damn near stripped the screws out. Reinstalling the ps3 software was kind of screwy for me, but I just downloaded the latest update onto a flash drive and updated it via that way. And if you chose the longer format process be prepared to wait a long time for it to do it. I shit you not it took my ps3 18 hours to format it, and just make sure you get a laptop hdd, and not a desktop hdd.

Speakers last a long time, and don't really get outdated....so It's worth your money to get a decent pair. Whatever is in your budget is the correct answer though.

If you're concerned about doing component instead of hdmi (don't know why unless you don't have hdmi), then just goto any game store and buy the first cheap pair of ps2 component cables, I found some for $7 back when I still had DVI instead of HDMI, and I used them shits untill I upgraded my tv.

Also if anyone is having display troubles and they are changing tv's or something, just start the ps3 by HOLDING the power button untill it beeps 3 times...i think it's 5-7seconds - that will default output to whatever it's hooked to. Great for moving the ps3 and transfering tv's/cables.

this is good advice. when i first hooked my ps3 up, i immediately went with hdmi and the screen was black but had sound. wasn't the easiest solution to find on google at the time either.

the time trials werent too bad(thanks to youtube vids) as once you knew what to do, its just a matter of practice. the speed runs werent bad except for chapter 9. i kept dying in the server room and it was really pissing me off. chapter 2, which i thought was going to be a bitch, only took maybe 10 tries.

i got called off work for sunday. so i am gonna try to return it, but we'll see. if not, its only $17.99 spent and i returned at least 10 games in the past so i cant be too mad.

just got back from toys r us. i bought 2 360 bioshock 2, 1 ps3 bioshock 2 and ps3 dantes inferno. got 3 packs of special edition figures, $40 in gift cards and cuz i bought 3 i got one of the bioshocks for free. 360 ones with the figures are going on ebay tonight.

hd streams were no-go last night. speed tests had me at 2.5 megs down and from what i understand, you need about 7-10 down. of course i was at that this morning, but yea...

however indigo prophecy opens up with u having to hide a body and get the fuck out of dodge. it builds the suspense from the first second of the game. apparently this one has like a 2 hour lead in
