I thought that's what Prologue was? I'm expecting to be massively disappointed. I hope I'm wrong, but my hopes are at 4.2/10 at this point for it to be good.

I have hope but likewise my expectations are low. The fact that MS has released 3 versions of Forza since the last true GT game is ridiculous. I'm tired of all the promises PD makes without coming through on them, and not to mention the wonky physics when you make contact with another racer, for trying to be authentic cars shouldn't react like bumper cars, not to mention the lackluster sound effects. One thing though is that it will be beautiful, and if they can deliver on their promises it will be great.

It's since been announced that the Dec 17th demo is also for the US. And based on PD track record I imagine the release date will move from 3/10 to holiday season 10.

goz, i must give you props for platting cod w@w. this game on veteran is the cheapest, most infuriating fucking game i have ever played. the amount of grenades these assholes throw is beyond belief. the one time i had 4 grenades surrounding me on my radar. im going through the game playing one stage on regular, then immediately playing that stage again on veteran so i remember where all the check points are and stuff (with the exception of their land their blood. i had to take a break from that one). and i still cant get that dumb pistol assassination one. i hear the sum of all zeros is a cunt too.

dude, just fucking WAIT till you get to the second last level where you gotta blow up 4 flak guns. my fucking GOD. ive been playing video games a long time now, and thats easily the hardest goddamn thing ive ever done. i wouldnt be surprised if i died like 1000 times on the 1 checkpoint. the grenades are fucking ridiculous, and just as annoying is that even though you're fighting with a bunch of other dudes, the whole other entire fucking army seems to be aiming at you and you alone. god just thinking about it makes me mad.

oh i know about heart of the reich. im hoping a few youtube videos can at least give me an idea of what to do but that wont take into account the complete randomness of grenades. and you know, when im watching youtube runs through veteran, my game always seems like 10 times harder.

for the pistol trophy, did you do it on recruit? i was trying to get that on normal, maybe thats what was giving me such a problem.

i only have like 5 levels left to go through on veteran, but who knows if ill ever complete them. ill try though.

3 minute or so preview of dante's inferno with some new stuff i hadn't seen prior. dante's stuff starts at about 12 minutes in. looks ok, though the in game visuals look pretty bland. gonna try out the demo later tonight.

upgrade system is kinda like how it was with dead space as there is a tree to what can be unlocked. good side and bad side.

demo was decent though. ill wait till one comes into a gamestop used and plat it within 7 days to take it back for a full refund. if you like GOW, youll like this game. 360 only owners will like it more though since they cant experience the awesomeness that will be GOW3.

so I'm not sure if I'm going to bother to plat Borderlands... I'm level 50 now, full cash, a crap load of good guns, beat the game once with all missions, completed the dlc and I'm half way through a second playthough but I'm bored with it... I have the online/co-op trophies to get, and the special ability trophies for the three other classes but I'm not sure I'm interested enough in playing through again three more times just to level up and use those special abilities... plus all those side challenges like "kill 10,000 rakk" and stuff, I don't think those actually get you anything but xp (which with the level cap is useless)...

does anyone actually enjoy replaying these games over and over?

gow did have a lot of button mashing. shits over played. if i want to open a door or a chest, like me hit a button 1 time to open it.

like in dantes, with the punish or save aspect. if you punish, you hit square once to kill them, if you choose to save, you button mash O. c'mon, why cant i just hit O once? aboslutely no point.

I think its almost impossible to make a third person game like this anymore and have it not compared to GoW. It's pretty similar, but it looks like at least deviate with the atmosphere.

picked up gow collection last week and today i finally got around to downloading the gow3 demo. except i didn't because it says my code is invalid. fucking bullshit. i tried putting it in both input screens but no luck.

well it says arkham has moved. so im gonna throw a wild guess out and say its in gotham, which gives me a boner. maybe when joker was in the ambulance at the end of the first one, he escapes or something. from the looks of the trailer, it looks like its in a city setting so logically youd think its in gotham. seems as though two face and penguin have been confirmed in the trailer. that video game awards show was garbage. i don't think any of the trailers showed more than 10 seconds of gameplay except for that racing game - which said "actual gameplay footage" and looked like a ps2 game. batman showed NO gameplay at all. that trailer was about as exciting as a visit to the dentist. for all we know, that footage could have been done during the first game's production.

i got through those last night. i thought they were quite a bit easier than the challenge of the gods from gow1. the only ones that took a while were the second one and the seventh one. having a maxed out sword of olympus made it a lot more straightforward.

about the upgraded blade of olympus, i played the game on normal, finished it, didnt get to upgrade everything. then i played it through on easy, got everything upgraded, and went into the challenges hoping they still would all be upgraded but no, they all drop back to the wepaons i had in normal. do i have to finish it on normal again to make sure i get the upgraded blade, or can i just play it until i get the blade upgraded and then go do it? sorry that made no fucking sense.

zombie, ive had a few trophies glitch on me. sadly the only way i got them to unlock was to delete my save data and start again. you can check www.ps3trophies.org and check their forums. maybe someone found a way around it.

i had one trophy from marvel ultimate alliance 2 glitch on me and i also had the kill amsel with just a pistol glitch from cod:w@w on me (killed that fucker 3 times until i deleted my save)

that's exactly what i did: beat the game once; started again with all my upgraded shit to go through and upgrade everything; quit without beating it again and start up the challenge of the titans. all my upgrades carried over. sounds like something's messed up in your game.

should i bother with uncharted 2 even if i thought the first one was pretty bland? sure it looked nice and was fun for a few hours, but all the gunplay got pretty repetitive and the puzzles were pretty mindless. please tell me the second one is a little more interesting given all the praise it has received.

the second one was a lot better, but if you weren't big on the first one it's not like it's going to be a completely different game. I think it's compelling enough that if you have a PS3 you should at least rent it and play through it.

the exploration is a bit better and the puzzles aren't quite as dumb, but thats maybe a third of the game anyways, the majority of the time you're still shooting, which is better as well

so why are people praising AC2? this game isnt that good sans a few good assassinations. your worst enemy is the fucking camera. can i even die while getting attacked? cuz i never did.

the free running can be infuriating at times. my camera has to be completely on where i want to go or else ill jump into an open gap, fall and have to try again. double frustrating when you have a time limit to get or a certain place or chasing someone.

the side missions are pretty boring to. meh. if this was such a vast improvement over the first one, i cant even imagine playing that heaping pile of shit.

You're right side missions are boring. This game does way too much for you, so I didn't get really mad when I missed a jump because I knew I was facing the wrong direction.

I agree with you on AC after I beat that have had no real reason to play anymore. I hate all the collectible trophies to me they seem like too much of a grind. Same with Borderland only trophy I have is lvl 40 then I plat it but that game got too old too fast especially after my frist playthough and getting online and having 5 people ask if I can help them beat certain stages.

I bought it in a buy 2 get one the week it came out, but have yet to open it. I'm WAY fucking behind on video games. Still have Uncharted 2 to plat, i'm only done with 2/5 fallout expansions, etc... so I went to best buy with my sealed copy of D.S. and returned it for full price and put it down for a monitor. I figured I can buy it used later on down the line when I actually have time for it. But I WAS looking forward to it.

i just opened up the 256 man battles on mag and it's pretty fucking intense. your team is broken down into four 32 man units and each unit has four eight man squads. each squad gets a different type of mission and you head on your way. it's a lot harder to build xp than in mw2 and if you're the type to run around and kill everyone without teamwork or trying to complete the mission, you're gonna take forever to level up. being able to parachute in near the objective points is pretty awesome but you're vulnerable. shooting people while they're in the air though is sweet.

i recommend everyone giving this game some play time and seeing what you think. or you can be the faggot that judges it based on a shitty youtube video and potentially miss out on something you would enjoy otherwise.

yeah you have some vehicles but nothing to write home about. i agree bc2 is going to be better but there's something to playing a 128 v 128 that has to be experienced. i'm most likely not going to buy mag but playing around on a free beta is definitely worth it.

There are many (ok, maybe just a couple) things a studio can do to mitigate the environment cost and make shit look decent while still maintaining 256 players at once. I'm not saying I know how, I just know it can be done. There's kind of no excuse for not being able to discern, for example, between you and the enemy (especially when you use the same mechanic DICE uses for Battlefield to do so), or not being able to see ANYONE AT ALL EVER. I also laughed (like, out loud) at the "popping" transition between hip and sights.

The controls are fine? You try just turning around, yet? That was damn slow, and I don't like that a billion different buttons "ready" your various weapons, but whatever -- that's quibbly shit.

And yer right, I should be appreciative that they are trying something new. I am. They deserve kudos for pushing the envelope, absolutely. The game won't bomb, at least not bad enough that some other development house somewhere won't think they can't do something better. I'll probably play the shit out of that game.

there's definitely some unexcusable graphically hiccups, which sucks since the game is supposed to be out in a couple weeks. i was just attributing it to the number of players and size of the map because i don't know anything about the development and what needs to be done.

i don't have an issue with the controls but i can see why one would. maybe i'm just used to a slower pace, i don't know. the ready buttons are a little odd though.

did you play enough to get to the 256 man games? i look forward to someone getting a hold of this idea and doing something epic with it. i don't think zipper is all that great.

Bad Company 2 Reaches Uncharted 2 Graphics - DICE

Battlefield bad company 2's developer DICE has said that the game's graphical quality is reaching Uncharted 2's graphics, but wont surpass it. Producer Gordon Van Dyke has said in an interview that no game can claim to have better graphics than Uncharted 2.

"I wouldn't make that kind of claim," he said. "Uncharted 2 is an amazing-looking game. But we're reaching that level of quality. I posted in the NIN thread, but it's also topical here. My PS3 can't seem to recognize MP4's, specifically that new NIN concert that was put out in various formats. I downloaded the version that said it was for the PS3. Nada. My system doesn't see the file anywhere. Streaming media hasn't been a problem. Just this format. Even tried putting it on a Mem stick so it was direct access. Nothing there either.

Have any of you come across this problem?

how big is the file?

when you put it on the flashdrive, you need to go to video and when you see your device you press triangle and then display all, you don't press x initially.

no prob. i had the same issue when i first started watching videos on the ps3. i don't know why sony made it work like that. just going to the device and pressing x seems a lot more natural.

I'm not sure why it didn't show up on my networked media folder when every other format does. I just got this thing for Christmas so I'm still learning about it's quirks.

i don't know anything about streaming, i put everything on a flash drive unless it's over 4gb.
