But as you said, Conklin played great. Malkin didn't do it all by himself, he still had Malone, Sykora and Conchar. Ovie doesn't have support like that. Nylander only played 40 games and was horrible defensively when he was in. Semin was injured on and off, Backstrom makes rookie mistakes ... the goaltending was dubious at best until Huet came and the Caps are still challenging for a spot. Ovie has 109 points, and could end up with 65 goals and 50 assists. And even more impressive, he is +26 right now, even though his team has just three more goals scored for than against.
